Bay Area Rises for Palestine

This mural is a collaborative effort between Bay Area anti-zionist organizations to demonstrate the importance and power of direct actions in the first year since Israel's horrific onslaught of genocide on Gaza. With shut downs of federal buildings, highways, bridges, the Port of Oakland to stop Israeli arms shipments with ILWU,  and more, it is no secret that the Bay Area showed up strong for support of Palestine during this current genocide. We decided to highlight the Bay Bridge shut down which took place on the eve of international political and financial leaders descending on San Francisco for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on November 16, 2023. The shut down of the Bay Bridge was highlighted around the world, showing that the elites who support the fascist zionist entity do not represent our communities. The action led to 78 arrests and a 7 month court battle in San Francisco where the community showed up strong for the arrestees and to also show their unwavering support for Palestine.
